Configure LimeVPN on your Mikrotik 6 Router using L2TP Protocol.

How to configure LimeVPN on Mikrotik 6 using L2TP?

Please follow the instructions below to configure LimeVPN on Mikrotik 6 using the L2TP protocol.

Step 1: Open your browser and enter 192.168.88.1 in the address bar.

Step 2: Once the admin panel is loaded, go to PPP. Click on the "+" - L2TP Client.

Step 3: In General Tab, Update as in the below screenshot.

Step 4: Update the server details as below and click on OK.

  • Connect To: Server IP

  • User: VPN Username

  • Password: VPN Password

  • Use IPsec: Check the box

  • IPSec Secret: private

  • Allow: Check all the boxes.

Step 5: Now click on IP from the left menu and select Firewall.

Step 6: Click on the NAT tab and click on "+"

Step 7: In General Tab, select Chain as srcnat and select Out. Interface as the profile we created.

Step 8: Now switch to the Action tab and select Action as masquerade and click on OK.

Step 9: Now inside the Firewall window, select the Mangle tab and click on "+"

Step 10: In the General tab, select Chain as prerouting. Enter Src. Address as 192.168.88.2-192.168.88.254.

Step 11: In the Action tab, select Action as mark routing and New Routing Mark as limevpn_routing_mark then click OK.

Step 12: Now click on IP from the left menu and click on Routes.

Step 13: Click on "+" under the Routes tab.

Step 15: Under the General tab, enter Dst. Address as 0.0.0.0/0 and Gateway as LimeVPN-L2TP or what you have set as profile name. Select the Routing Mark as the one we created previously which is limevpn_routing_mark. Then click OK.

Step 16: Right-click on the newly created Route list and click on Enable.

Step 17: Now click on IP from the left menu and click on DNS.

Step 18: Enter Servers as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and click on OK.

Step 19: Now click on IP from the left menu and click on DHCP Client.

Step 20: Double-click on the default entry.

Step 21: Make sure to uncheck Use Peer DNS and click on OK.
