Below are few tricks to know which version of Windows you are using:
If you start screen looks like below, then it is Windows 10
If your Start screen looks like below, then it is Windows 8 or Windows 8.1
To find out if you’re using Windows 7 or Vista
Click on Start, then right click on Computer.
From the drop down select Properties
Under Windows edition, you will see your version of Windows.
